FRANCES ARNOLD Died peacefully on Thursday, December 23, 1999 at the St. Boniface Hospital, after a courageous five year struggle with lymphatic cancer. She is survived by her beloved son Jeremiah (Jem) her parents, Abe and Bertha Arnold; her twin sister Shelley Chochinov (Barry) in Anola, MB; her brother Mark Arnold (Joyce) in Toronto; nieces, nephews and extended family members across the country and a wide circle of devoted friends. Born in Vancouver, November 16, 1951, she graduated from the University of Manitoba with a B.A. (Hons.). She worked for many years as coordinator of volunteers with the Department of Social Services, Manitoba Government, and was active and well known in the Alternative Care Community. She was a founding member of the Sholem Aleichem Community and a founder of Harvest Co-Op Natural Foods. She wrote stories and poems and published a book "We are Still a Family." A Memorial Celebration of Frances life will take place on Sunday, January 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Robert Steen Community Centre (Ruby at Palmerston).
