SCOTT ANDREW DOWSETT It is with great sorrow that the family announces the sudden and tragic passing of Scott Andrew Dowsett, aged 35 years of Gimli, Man. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Linda; sons, Andrew and Curtis; mother Thora (husband Rod) and his son Jason; sisters Jill (Darren) Welch and their children, Chelsea and Dylan, Janet (Ed) Tyslau and their children, Jennifer and Chris; and Karen; brothers Craig (Karen) and their children David, Thomas and Sarah; Sean (Darlene) and their children Adrian and Corey and Lindas daughter Tegan (Chris). He also leaves his grandmother Kay as well as numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and their families. Scott will be remembered by his lifelong friends, the McIvor family, Russ Elliot, and many others too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his father, Glenn Thomas Dowsett in 1994. Scott was born on September 26, 1964 in Long Beach, California. He loved being outdoors, golfing, fishing and playing baseball as well as playing darts in Gimli were only a few of the many things he loved to do. But Scotts all time passion was playing his guitar and jamming with the guys. Scott loved to travel, he travelled all over North America from the time he was a teenager. He was employed by Transx as a long distance truck driver. He purchased his own truck last November, which made him very proud. He will also be sadly missed by his fellow truckdrivers. Before Scott worked for Transx, he volunteered his time to being an ambulance attendant at the Gimli Hospital. His boys meant the world to him. He had a great personality and was well liked by everyone. His smile lit up a room as soon as he entered it. Scott has a calm manner about him, this was evident in his caring ways. In Celebration of his life, a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, at 3:00 p.m. in the Gimli Lutheran Church, 50 3rd Ave., Gimli with Student Pastor Susan Horton officiating. Cremation to follow service and a private family interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to a trust fund for Scotts boys at the CIBC back, Gimli Branch. Scott was more special than words can describe. He was our diamond in the rough. We all have an angel looking over us now. A Heart Of Gold A heart of gold stopped beating Working hands at rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Leaves and flowers may wither, The Golden sun may set. But the hearts that loved you dearly Are the one that wont forget. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli, in care of arrangements.
