Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNIE WILLIAMSON (nee CHARTRAND) On January 6, 2000, Annie Williamson (nee Chartrand) passed away suddenly with her husband Maurice by her side, at the St. Boniface Hospital. She was predeceased by her mother and father, sisters Mary and Rose and brother David. She leaves to mourn, her husband of 44 years, Maurice, sisters Virginia (Gus), Josephine, Rita and brothers Tom (Rita) and Leonard (Agnes), brothers-in-law Orville (Anita), Jim (Cheryl), Raymond (Rosemary), sisters-in-law Ruby (Rolly) and Shirley (Dennis) also many nieces, nephews and friends. Also two special people in England, Betty and Paul whom she regularly communicated with by phone and letters. Annie was born on May 7, 1915 in Deerhorn, Manitoba. She attended the Gascon School in Oak Point (Quarry) and worked at various farms in the Interlake area. In 1944 she moved to Winnipeg to be with her sisters and found employment at Rumfords Laundry. On July 30, 1955 she married Maurice in Winnipeg. Throughout Maurices military career, Annie accompanied him to postings in Victoria, Winnipeg, Shilo and Germany and upon his retirement in 1980, they took up residence in Winnipeg. There were three long postings that Annie could not be with her husband, in Indo-China, Cyprus and Egypt. During this time she remained at home in Winnipeg and Shilo looking after her home and gardens and writing many letters to her husband overseas. Annie was an excellent gardener, especially growing the most beautiful roses that will bloom again next spring and will be a reminder of what a beautiful and gentle woman she was. She also enjoyed visiting her nephews hobby farm, where every little animal had to sit on her knee. A special thank you to the Winnipeg Ambulance Services, Dr. Friesen and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital (Emergency Dept.) for their valiant efforts. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., January 12, in the Lundar Lutheran Church, with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Internment to follow in the family plot at Lundar Municipal Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ken Moore, Bobby Nolin, Todd Williamson, Treavor Williamson, Alan Chartrand and Brian McLeod. AFTERGLOW Id like the memory of me to be a happy one. Id like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. Id like to leave an echo whispering down the ways of happy times and laughing times, and bright and sunny days. Id like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done. We believe in wonder.
