JOHN WILLIAM CABLE Born August 31, 1914 in Gilbert Plains, died October 6, 2002 at the age of 88. John was the second eldest of nine children. He was predeceased by parents, Margaret (Parkman) and George Cable; brothers, Vernon (Bud) in Italy during the Second World War, Walter; and sister Etta; and wife Hannah Mary (October 3, 1998). John is survived by daughter Pat (Fred) Dupas, grandchildren, Kim (Rob) Grewe, Bart (Brandy) Edmond, Freddy (Stacie) and great-grandson Sebastian; son Bob (Pat) and granddaughter Mandy; brothers, Len (Babs), Cecil, Bob (Jean) sisters, Rea and Betty. Dad rode the rails looking for work during the Depression. He became a "Jack" of all trades for many years. A top rate upholsterer at the CN until his retirement. He enjoyed meeting his pals at the Legion, curling, travelling but most of all gardening and fishing. Everyone from family and friends to acquaintances enjoyed the bounty of his garden and fishing catches. He will be missed by all his many relatives from Hudson Bay and other locales from Manitoba to British Columbia. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
