EMMETT FRANCIS BURNS Emmett Francis Burns passed away peacefully on January 8, 2000 at Surrey Memorial Hospital following a stroke. Emmett will be sadly missed by his loving family: Kae, wife of 60 years; four sons, Bob (Darlene) of Richmond, BC, Bill (Silvia) of Cloverdale, BC, John (Sonjia) of Camrose, AB, Jim (Claire) of Kelowna, BC; and daughter Patty deBoer (Marc) of White Rock, BC. Emmett was predeceased by his brothers, John, Cornelius and Wilfred; and is survived by his sister Eleanor and sister-in-law Elsa, both of Regina. Emmett was born in Vancouver on May 19, 1915, the son of John Christopher Burns and Joanna Eleanor McAuliffe. He was raised in Regina and spent 34 years with J.I. Case Company, working in Winnipeg, Brandon, Calgary, before retiring to Tsawwassen in 1973. Dad was a great leader as demonstrated by his life of faith, devotion to his family, and dedication to his church and the community. After retiring, Dad had three great loves: golf, woodworking and his 11 grandchildren, Danielle, Christine, Michelle, Sarah, Edward, Jeffrey, Hazel, Mary, Brian, Alexandra and Connor. Dad was loved and highly respected by all who knew him. Well miss you Grandpa! A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 12 at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, 20676 Fraser Hwy., Langley, BC.
