Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST ALBERT STRATTON Peacefully at Victoria Hospital on January 8, 2000, Ernie Stratton passed away at the age of 76 years. He is survived by his companion Gwen Wilson; sons, Ken (Linda) of Whitby, ON, Wayne (Linda) of Winnipeg; grandchildren Neil (Lisa) of Keswick, ON, Arlene of Whitby, Sean (Denise) of Winnipeg, Lisa (Pierre) of Ogunquit, Maine and Sherry Wilson of Winnipeg; two great-grandchildren, Marly Stratton and Tyler Wilson; sisters, (Rose) Magnus Johnson, Margaret (Harold) Mankewich, Linda (Bill) Pal of Winnipeg, Pearl Cook of Oshawa, ON, Eva (Art) Moug of Grand Prairie, AB; brothers, Fred (Pat) of Oshawa, Doug (Josephine), Gord (Inez) of Arnes, MB, Art (Joan) of St. Adolphe, MB, Bruce of Winnipeg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ernie was predeceased by his two wives, Lillian and Velma; his parents, Ernest and Margaret; and brothers, Robert, Harold and Donald. Ernie was born in Winnipeg on January 26, 1923. His early childhood was spent in Arnes until his family moved to Winnipeg. He started work with the C.N.R. and then enlisted in the R.C.A.F.. Upon his return from the war, he resumed his employment for the C.N.R. until his retirement. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Doctors and Staff at the Victoria General Hospital, for all of their loving care, and to all of Ernies friends, for their kindness and support. There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, January 12 at 3:30 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
