Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE-JEANNE EMOND (nee ST-DENIS) Peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, Marie-Jeanne passed away, at the age of 55, on Saturday, January 8, 2000, at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Boniface Hospital. Marie-Jeanne was predeceased by her father, Elzear St-Denis. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Marie-Jeanne is survived by, son, Christian and grandson Chad; daughter Chantal and partner Cindy; daughter Nathalie, daughter Josee and husband Neil and grandson Hunter. She is also survived by her mother, Mme. Irene St-Denis; sisters, Rita, Therese, Claudette, Francoise, Rachelle and Jacynthe; brothers Guy, Jean-Noel, Roger, Lucien, Ronald, Gaston, and Richard. Marie-Jeanne will be dearly missed by Gert Richer and family, as well as all those who knew her and whose lives she touched. Marie-Jeanne was born March 6, 1944 in Sarsfield, Ont., a French Canadian community just outside Ottawa. She was raised on a dairy farm and she was the seventh child of fourteen children. After many life experiences and challenges she decided to call Winnipeg her home in 1976. Marie-Jeanne lived and raised her four children in St. James. In 1977 Marie-Jeanne found permanent employment with CFB Winnipeg where she worked at the School of Aerospace Studies. She worked on the base for twenty three years and had great love, admiration, and respect for the job and the people with whom she worked. Marie-Jeanne had many loves and interest. She bowled in a league at the Village inn for many years. She was an avid gardener and she was always ready to act as seamstress for herself and others. Marie-Jeanne spent most of her free time giving of herself to help anyone in need. Everyone knew that there would be no job to big for Marie-Jeanne to tackle especially jobs involving outdoor activities. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, January 11 at 11:00 a.m., in the John XXII Roman Catholic Church - Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Avenue at Rouge Road, with Rev. Msgr. Norman J. Chartrand, P.A., presiding. Interment will be held at a later date in the Sarsfield Cemetery, Sarsfield, Ontario. Marie-Jeanne will be missed by many. We know her spirit will be there to guide us on our own life journeys. The family would like to thank Dr. Daeninck, the staff of 7 West, and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie-Jeannes memory to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
