OLIVER GOOD Peacefully and courageously after a difficult hard fought battle with cancer on Saturday, January 8, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Oliver Good of Stony Mountain, MB. Survived by his wife of 30 years Linda of Stony Mountain, daughter, Carla Good and fiance Randy Miller of Winnipeg; son Joel Good and friend Megan Whitaker of Balmoral; father Oliver Good of Teulon; sisters, Jane Wood of Cerritos, CA, Shirley McLean, Marge (Stan) Gurniak, Barb (Steve) Moroz, Pat Good (Wendy), Karen (Rick) Besser of Winnipeg, Heather (Dana) Brown of Regina, Sk. and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Mae Good, February 15, 1972; sister, Coleen Lucier, September 15, 1992 and sister-in-law Roberta Bruce, November 4, 1999. Oliver was born December 31, 1947 in Teulon, MB. He married Linda Bruce June 21, 1969 and his greatest pride and joy were his children Carla and Joel. For a number of years Oliver devoted his time to coaching minor hockey and spent many enjoyable years at the various rinks watching Joel play. As director of Interlake Minor Hockey he was instrumental in the resurrection of the Interlake Lighting back into the AAA Midget League. Oliver had been actively involved in the Trucking Industry for past 36 years., receiving his Associate Pioneer Plague from the Manitoba Trucking Association. Proud, dedicated hardworking owner of Professional Transport Driver Training School he was a positive influence in the Training Industry. His dedication and commitment to the trucking industry was to put the best well trained drivers into the work force. With his knowledge and guidance he had personally helped so many people start their career into the Industry. One of his greatest dreams was realized when he had Linda, Carla and Joel working with him in the family business. The past few years he and Linda enjoyed the trips they ran when time permitted. Their winter holidays to Mexico where a great source of enjoyment and relaxation. Golfing also became a pastime he truly enjoyed. He many escapades on the course will be sadly missed by his golf buddy. Sincere and heartfelt thanks to Dr. A. Maksymiuk for his care and compassion, 5A Staff St. Boniface Hospital, Sarah and Randy of Stonewall Ambulance and Jack Knapp for the countless hours he sat with Oliver. Oliver will be deeply missed by his long time friends, relatives, co-workers and business associates but mostly by his family which he fought so hard to stay with. A service in honour of Oliver will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Donald and Graham on Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Erinview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg.
