NORMAN BUCKLEY Peacefully on January 9, 2000 at his residence, Norman Buckley, aged 89 years, of Steep Rock, MB. Norman was born December 5, 1910 in Winnipeg. In 1922 he moved to the Steep Rock area where he farmed with his parents and his brother Tom. Norman was a member of the Masonic Lodge (Moosehorn Branch) for over 60 years. He will always be remembered for his keen sense of humour. He leaves to mourn one sister Phyllis Carpenter of Kerrisdale, BC; a niece Geraldine Carpenter of Kerrisdale, a nephew Norman Carpenter of Vancouver; a great-nephew Cody and a great-niece Nicole; also many dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Amy; one brother Tom, sisters, Ruby and Dorothy. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 13, at 2:00 p.m. in the Faulkner Community Hall, with Rev. Stan Fowke officiating. Interment to follow in the Faulkner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Al Hummel, Steven Cook, John Meisner, Dennis Pischke, Hilding Olson and Norval Sander. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 12, at 7:00 p.m. at Arnasons Funeral Chapel, Ashern and also at the hall prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg or to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild, care of Runa Mangl, Ashern. Special thanks to all Norms friends and neighbours and the home care workers. A special thanks to the Hummel family for their help over the years.
