Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTON (TONY) PAYONK Tony Payonk passed away peacefully at the Seven Oaks Hospital on January 10, 2000 at the age of 100 years. Tony was born in Argentina on June 12, 1899 and came to Canada in the early 1920s. He settled in Libau, Man. and in 1924 married Mary Kosack. They moved to Winnipeg in 1943 where he worked for C.N. and up north before his retirement. Tony was predeceased by two daughters, Victoria and Grace and son Charlie. He leaves to mourn his wife Mary; his sons, Frank (Bernice), Joe (Mary), Wally (Pat) and daughter Doreen Louise (Joe), ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Prayers will be said on Thursday, January 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Marys Polish National Church, 361 Burrows Ave., Winnipeg with Fr. Wesley Cwieka officiating. Interment in the Polish National Cemetery on No. 59 Highway, Libau. Tonys pallbearers will be Robert, Greg and Gary Payonk, Gordon Lipps, Marcel Pelland and Andy Kosack. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to their favourite charity. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the staff and management at the Middlechurch Personal Care Home for all their excellent care.
