BEATRICE VICTORIA GARAND (nee DUCHARME) Peacefully, at Villa Youville, Ste. Anne, MB, at the age of 85 years, Beatrice Victoria Garand passed away. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 65 years, Lucien; five sons, Armand (Olive), Marcel (Jeannette), Gerard (Ruby), all of Ste. Rita, Louis (Pat), Roger (Elaine) of Beausejour, five daughters, Laurette (Al) Juliette of Winnipeg, Julianne, Angele of Calgary, AB, Lynn (Gerry) of Delta, BC; 44 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother Earl and one sister Virginia. Beatrice was predeceased by her parents, Jean-Batiste and Clara Ducharme; five brothers, four sisters; one grandson Guy; one great-granddaughter Angel; and by her son-in-law Andrew Larocque. Mom will always be remembered as a woman both strong and good. Who gave her best for others and who did the best she could. Shell always be remembered for all the joy she brought as a woman who made a difference, and a woman who meant a lot. After raising her children, Mom went on to become a foster parent of numerous children over a period of 15 years until her retirement. Pallbearers will be James Garand, Randy Garand, Roger Larocque, Morris Garand, Raymond Garand and Gerard Larocque. Prayers will be said on Thursday, January 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Rd. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Ste. Rita Roman Catholic Church, Ste. Rita, MB, with Fr. Bernard Belanger presiding. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beatrices memory to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and doctors of Villa Youville for their kind and special care of Mom during her lengthy courageous battle with Alzheimers.
