DAVID HENRY WILLIS On January 10, 2000, our dearly beloved husband, father and grandfather, David Henry Willis, passed away at the Stonewall Hospital, in his 98th year. Dave is survived by Annie, his wife of 56 years; his children and grandchildren, Jack (Cheryl), Lisa and Geri; George (Val), Lee, Chad, Brett and Myles, all of Stonewall, Man.; Linda (Keith) Hemingson, David, Laura and Clayton of Melfort, Sask.; his sisters, Nell Drake of Winnipeg, Velma (Charlie) Slater of Stonewall; his sisters-in-law, Nelda Willis of Saskatoon, Sask., Olive Peterson of California, Mary Good of Stonewall, Bev Calderwood of Stonewall and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dave was predeceased by his brother Maurice, sisters and spouses, Jane (Oliver) Mollard, Bertha (Gordon) Ross, Alice (Ben) Dawson, Phyllis (Lorne) MacFarland, Millie (Aldus) Preston, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Stan Drake, Andrew Calderwood, Ed Good, Alton Peterson, Lily and Ewart Good. Dave was born January 17, 1902 in the Balmoral area. He attended school in Balmoral and Stonewall and worked in the banking industry for a period of time. He then returned to the family farm to work with his parents taking over the farm in 1944. He and Annie retired to Stonewall in 1975 and they moved into Rosewood Lodge in 1997. He enjoyed his grandchildren, farming and many different sports. He was a lifelong member of the Anglican Church. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and recently received his 50 year jewel. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. J. Miles will officiate. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Stonewall and District Health Centre - Rosewood Lodge. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
