Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH WOOD KRYSCHUK (nee MURPHY, nee GRAY) On Monday, January 10, 2000 at Victoria General Hospital, Elizabeth Kryschuk, aged 84 years, passed away into the waking arms of Jesus. Lil as she was fondly called, was born in Auchtermuchty, Scotland, the daughter of James and Catherine Gray, on May 30, 1915. Her family moved to Winnipeg when she was five years old. Lil was predeceased by her husbands, Russell and Mickey; her brother James; and her parents. Prior to her admittance to Central Park Lodge in February, 1992, Mickey and Lil were able to enjoy a number of good years together. Mom leaves to mourn her passing and to celebrate what, to us, was a very special and meaningful life, her four children, Heather (Brian) Jacques, Colleen (Terry) Stastook, Barry (Peggy) Murphy and James (Jocelyn) Murphy. In our eyes there could not have been a better Mother. She realized early on how everything she did and said affected not only her life but also the lives of others, especially her children. To that end she strived to provide a good example for us to follow. She also taught her children important life skills and emphasized the importance of having wisdom, kindness, unselfishness, thoughtfulness, encouragement, understanding and most importantly love. Whatever she did, whether for her children, other family, or friends, she did it from her heart. She always believed in us and helped us to believe in ourselves. She was always there for us, even in our adult lives. To us it is really true that "Mother and love differ only in name; for the miracles they work are one in the same." Our Mother was all of this and more and she will live on in our hearts forever as our very best friend. Lil shared a special relationship with her sons-in-law, Terry and Brian; and daughters-in-law, Peggy and Jocelyn, sharing her special kind of humour and love of life with them. To her ten grandchildren, Sharleen, Cheryl and Shannon Jacques, Todd and Tara Stastook, Kyle and Cameron Murphy, and Jared, Justen and Jenith Murphy, Nannie showed that kindness and giving creates love. She was always eager to listen, to share their achievements, their problems and their dreams. Lil also leaves to mourn her passing her beloved sister Shirley (Cyril) Huffman, her children and grandchildren. To her relatives, friends and others whose lives she touched, she will always be remembered as something beautiful that passed their way. Her love of life, her spirited cheerfulness, her willingness to help others, her caring and special friendships she enjoyed with many, her respect for others, her delightful sense of humour and strength of character touched many. There will be a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 13 in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. A gathering of friends will follow in the Thomson Chapels Tea Room. May God bless her and grant her eternal rest THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
