CHARNEY (BILL) It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Jr. Charney announces his passing on January 10, 2000 after a long courageous battle with M.S. at the age of 47. Bill was born on August 1, 1952 in Winnipeg. He received his apprenticeship in Auto Mechanics from Bills Garage in Gonor, Man. He then worked for the Lord Selkirk School Division until his illness of Multiple Sclerosis ceased his employment in 1983. Bill loved fishing and was often found fishing with his boat at Falcon lake or sitting at the Selkirk docks hoping to catch the big one. Bill was predeceased by his father and maternal grandparents and leaves to mourn, his mother Olga of Lockport, sister Gail of Winnipeg, brother Larry (Linda) of Winnipeg and his two nephews Michael and David which were his pride and joy. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 13 (not Friday, January 14 as was stated in yesterdays paper) at 10:30 a.m. in the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Rossdale with Redemptorist Father officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Bills pallbearers will be Gerry Kotowich, Richard Zelyk, Steven Malegus, Bob McGill, John Rudnicki and Bill Skromeda. Honourary pallbearers are Michael and David Charney. The Charney family would like to thank the nursing staff at Tudor Home for the tender loving care they gave Bill. In lieu of flowers donations to the M.S. Society, 141 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, R3B 0R3. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
