EUGENE VERMANDER Suddenly and unexpectedly at Bury France, on January 1, 2000, Eugene Vermander, known to his many friends as "Gene". Born in St. Boniface, MB on May 10, 1920, graduate of the University of Manitoba and McGill University, lover of nature and of wilderness canoe trips, career of 35 years with Air Canada having worked in Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal specializing in Planning, Economics and Management Systems. Gene retired to Perth in 1978 where he built his home of century old cedar logs on the shores of a beautiful lake. He will be sadly missed by his longtime dear companion and friend, Ingebord Deloingce of Bury France; his sons, George R. (Madonna Hettinger) Vermander of Wooster, Ohio, Jeoffrey (Nancy) Vermander of Winnipeg and daughter Danae (Pat Nelligan) of Montreal; his grandsons, Joseph and Eugene Vermander and loved cousins, Rita Muller of Kelowna, BC, Doc (Fran) Vermander and Claudette Truelove and families of Perth. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth, Friday, January 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Johns Church, Perth, Saturday at 11:00 a.m. In remembrance, contributions to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, 40 Ruskin Ave., Ottawa, ON K1Y 4W2 would be appreciated.
