Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUBY VALGERDUR ALBERTSON In deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Amma (grandmother) and sister, Ruby Albertson, aged 83 years, on January 10, 2000 in Gimli, Man. Ruby was predeceased by her husband Norman in 1963; parents, Jon and Ragnhildur Stevens; brothers, Laurence and Franklin and sisters, Violet and Flora. She is survived by her sons, Gordon (Ruth), Roy (Patti) and daughter Cheryl (Marino) Jonasson. Her beloved grandchildren, Tanner, Chase and Chelsea Jonasson, Jennifer (Travis), Leonard and Jackie Albertson. Ruby is also survived by brothers, Bill (Ellen), Elert (Anna), Walter (Betty) and sister Esther (Gudni) Magnusson and sister-in-law Runn Stevens, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ruby worked at the Betel Home in Gimli for many years, until her retirement and made many lasting friends there. She devoted herself to her family and her grandchildren, which were her pride and joy. She looked forward to their many visits and her visits with them. She was actively involved with the Lutheran Church Ladies for many years. Ruby also belonged to the Icelandic National League and was very proud of her Icelandic heritage. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gimli Lutheran Church, with Pastor George Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
