HELEN HOSKI Helen Hoski loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 14, 1999, at the Vancouver University Hospital. Helen was born on May 30, 1919 in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Ethel Owczar; her husband Michael Hoski and daughter Joanne (Jodi) Hoski. Helen will be sadly missed by her son Donald and granddaughter Candace of Vancouver; sisters, Ruby (Ron) Merrison of Prince Rupert; Bernice Robinson of Smithers, Evelyn Koziki of Sechelt; brother Harry (Flo) Owczar of Winnipeg; cousins, Olive White of Brandon, Jean Cole of California; and many nieces and nephews. Helen worked for many years at the Paddock Restaurant in Winnipeg before moving to Vancouver. Before her illness, she was a member of, and very active in the Ukrainian Catholic Women and number 8217s Association of St. Mary and number 8217s Catholic Church in Vancouver. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Vancouver at a later date.
