EMILY HAY JEFFRIES Peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2000, at the Grace Hospital at the age of 93 years. Em was born in Natal, South Africa on August 4, 1906. She was predeceased by parents, Joseph and Natalia, brothers, Joe and Con and sisters, Bessie, Ann and Mavis and is survived by sisters, Rita and Kay, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces and one great-great nephew and niece. Em was a gifted seamstress and dress designer and her many beautiful paintings adorn our walls. No one could compare to the Toronto Argonauts on the field. Em could make the youngest child feel grown up. Through her memories and stories, our family history came alive making Zulu a reality and not just a movie. Interment at Brookside Cemetery, Notre Dame St. on Wednesday, January 19, 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of Ems life at 6 Willow Walk. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews, Neil and Gordie Whitney, Gordon Cootes, Jeff Kerr, Jim Jeffries and John Reynolds. Auntie Em will be missed by many and loved by all.
