JEANIE A. MORGAN Beloved wife of the late Rev. Canon C.L. (Ches) Morgan, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 13, 2000 at Deer Lodge Center, with family at her side. Jeanie was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan on July 4, 1907, the second child of 12, born to Annie and John Munro. She left Estevan to come to Winnipeg to enter the Salvation Army Training College. Jeanie devoted her early life in Service to the Lord in the Salvation Army Ministry. She worked at Vancouver Grace Hospital for ten years as a bookkeeper. The next 16 years were as an Officer. On September 1, 1943 Jeanie married Ches Morgan. Their life led them to many parts of the world. They were constant companions. During their early life together, Jeanie and Ches served as partners in Ministry in many Parishes in rural and urban Manitoba until Ches appointment as Protestant Chaplain of Deer Lodge Hospital. Jeanie returned to work in Winnipeg, giving ten years to Walsh and Charles Imports and two years to the Manitoba Center for the Deaf. Most recently, Jeanie resided at The Wellington, 3161 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jeanie was predeceased by her beloved Ches on July 28, 1991; her parents and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by sister Queenie (Percy) Simpson of Calgary, Alberta; sister Alice Haws of Forest, Ontario; sister-in-law Eve (Bill) Franchuk of Langley, British Columbia; brother-in-law Alf (Ivy) Morgan of Indian Head, Saskatchewan; numerous nieces and nephews; several God children and a wealth of dearly loved friends. We would like to express our thankfulness for those special folk who cared for Jeanie during her time at Deer Lodge Center on 2 East and 3 South. Special thanks to Glynda and Lenelle of 3 South for their compassion and care during the last week. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial service celebrating Jeanies life will be held Wednesday, January 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Donald and Graham, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Archbishop Walter Jones officiating. Jeanie had a very special way that warmed the hearts of everyone who knew her. The gracious qualities that made her the person she was has left all with many beautiful memories. She touched our lives with her guiding hand and heart. May your own special memories comfort you now and through the days to come.
