MARGARET SMITH (nee McCORMACK) Passed away at the Moog and Friends Hospice House on Sunday, January 16, 2000 at 4:00 a.m. after a ten month courageous battle with cancer. Margaret was born November 14, 1929 in New Dale, Manitoba, moving to the greater Winnipeg area with her family at an early age. After retiring Margaret and Bill moved to Penticton in 1989. She is survived by her loving family; husband Bill of Penticton; son Craig and his wife Cathy of Richmond; sisters, Annie, Lena, both of Winnipeg, Agnes (Bill) of Gunton, Manitoba, Jennie of Toronto; brothers, Edward and Jim (Irene), both of Gunton, Manitoba; brothers-in-law, Spud Smith (Anne), Fred Smith (Marg), Lynn Smith (Judy), all of Winnipeg; many nieces and nephews. No service by Margarets request. Cremation. Her ashes will be placed with her beloved dogs, Lance and McGuckin in a mountain cemetery. As Margaret was a lover of animals, donations may be made to the SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Arrangements in care of EVERDEN RUST FUNERAL SERVICES, 250-493-4112.
