Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILHELMINA (BILLIE) WARMAN-MARTEL (nee ARMSTRONG) Suddenly on January 16, 2000 at the Grace General Hospital, Billie passed away at the age of 80 years. She is survived by her daughter Evelyn (Gord) Douglas of Vancouver; sons, Donald (Lucy) Warman and Doug Warman all of Winnipeg; five grandchildren, Steven (Joan) Douglas of Edmonton, John and Lisa Douglas of Vancouver, Kimberley and David Warman of Winnipeg; two great-grandchildren, Jamie and Scott Douglas of Calgary. Billie will also be missed by her two sisters, Jean Armstrong of Winnipeg and Marg Nicholson of Vancouver. Billie was a devoted wife and mother. She was employed with the Vaughan Street Detention Centre for 20 years. At the time of contemplating retirement, Billie made the decision to remain in the work force and held a position at the St. Amant Centre where she remained until late retirement. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 20 at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons St., at 1:00 p.m. Interment of cremated remains will be held at a later time at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. A special thank you to Dr. George at the Grace Hospital for his care and concern also to the staff at the Lions Manor.
