CLARA HENDERSON Peacefully on January 17, 2000 at the Manitou Hospital, Clara passed away at the age of 93 years. She is survived by her beloved husband, George, of 44 years; four children: Jim, Steinbach; Donna (Don) Black, Vancouver; Lindsay (Janice), Winnipeg; David (Janis), Manitou; five grandchildren: Charlyn (Brian) Stang, Airde, Alta.; Cynthia (Steve) Locke, Vancouver; Crystal and Michelle Henderson, Manitou and Sean Henderson, Winnipeg and by one great-grandchild Brenna Stang; two sisters: Hannah Preston, Baldur; Isabella Babcock, Vancouver and sister-in-law Edith Balfour, Manitou. Clara was predeceased by her parents, four sisters and two brothers. She was the fifth daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Balfour. She received her education at the Manitou Consolidated School and spent most of her life in and around Manitou. She was a member of the Manitou St. Andrews United Church and was an active member of the U.C.W., Sunday School, the 4-H Club and the Red Cross, for which she did much knitting. Also a member of the Friendship Centre where she enjoyed meeting with her friends and playing cards. The family would like to thanks the staff at the Manitou Hospital for their care and support. There will be a private family interment prior to a Memorial Service to be held at St. Andrews United Church, Manitou on Thursday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Bev Simpson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Andrews Memorial Fund or the charity of your choice. Grahams Funeral Service in care of arrangements.
