HALINA (HELEN) ROTH (nee MALAWSKI) June 25, 1946 - January 14, 2000 It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother. Peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2000, surrounded by her whole family, Halina had to leave us after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered always and forever by her husband of 33 years, Walter; her treasured children, James and Julie; and her new but very loved daughter-in-law Susan; her adoring parents, Tadeusz and Aniela Malawski; her cherished brothers, Richard (Raymonde) and Edward (Joy) her long-awaited for baby sister Teresa (Kelly) as well as her caring nieces, Tobie and Keverley; and nephews, Michael and Jeffrey. Halinas family was her whole life and there was never anything more important to her than her beloved Wally, Jamie and Julie. She was so proud of Julies scholastic endeavours in the field of Physiology and of their very special friendship. She also took great pride in her sons rising music career. She was thrilled to be able to see James and Susans wedding in early November, promising and delivering a beautiful sunny day. Halina and Walter married on June 4, 1966 and through the years exemplified to the people around them what a strong, loving and respectful marriage is, and are today even more in love with each other than when they said their vows. Halina had a tremendous bond with her mother and father, and spent a part of almost every day visiting with them. Whenever she was needed by her brothers or sister, nieces or nephews, she was right there. Whether it was to lend a hand or to just listen, she had a unique way of letting them know they were very special to her. Before deciding to devote her time to raising her children, Halina worked for many years at the Winnipeg Clinic, first in X-ray, and then as a doctors assistant in various departments. Her co-workers loved her dearly and said they would miss her effervescent personality once she left. Her most prized role, however, was raising her children which she did selflessly. "Auntie" also had a very special relationship with her niece and nephew, Tobie and Michael, whom she babysat during the day for years. Halinas free time was spent gardening, sewing and working on a number of crafts, as she was very artistic. She also loved to play with her beloved dogs, Bailey and Zoe. The family would like to thank nurses (her angels) Linda and Joanne, and especially Colette for making an impossible situation bearable. Prayers will take place Wednesday, January 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20 at the Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital, Cancercare Manitoba, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg R2H 2A6, Re: Patient Care - Cancercare Unit. Halina felt all the love and every prayer her family sent her over the years. We Love and Miss You so Much Mom Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
