Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACOBA (COBY) HOOGENDORP (nee VERBOORT) On Friday, January 14, 2000, at the Charleswood Care Centre, Jacoba (Coby) Hoogendorp passed away after suffering many years with dementia, at the age of 82 years. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Jack Hoogendorp; her daughter Rita Meyer; son-in-law John Meyer; grandchildren, Angela, Jeff, Dan and great grandchildren, Chantelle, Erica, Jayse, Kyle and Taylor; sister Mies Dyckers; sister-in-law Johana Vanloon as well as several nieces and nephews. Coby was predeceased by her son Jacobus Hoogendorp and her grandson Jacobus Meyer. Coby was born in The Hague in 1917 and immigrated with her husband and two children in 1954 to Winnipeg. Here she took on the challenge of learning a new language and setting up a home for her family. Cobys gentle nature and kindness were revealed through her work, friends and the way she took such special care of her family, children and grandchildren. Seeing children would instantly bring a smile to her face and through her last years what she spoke of most were the children. She also enjoyed reading, embroidery and in later years took pride in her curling. A private funeral service will be held for Coby in Wojciks Funeral Chapel. After the service she will be laid to rest beside her son Jacobus Hoogendorp at Brookside Cemetery. Our family would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the staff who cared for her at Charleswood Care Centre. A special thanks to Ellen Rourke for all her care and attention given to Coby. Cobys family have entrusted her arrangements to the care of: WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
