SALLY (SOPHIE) WISEMAN

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySALLY (SOPHIE) WISEMAN (nee SZAFRANSKI) Peacefully, on January 16, 2000 at Bethania Nursing Home at the age of 85. Sally was the only child of Julia and Paul Szafranski, longtime business residents of North Winnipeg. She was born, raised, educated in North Winnipeg. Sally worked for years in the field of accounting with the Winnipeg Free Press, Universal Printers and Brownstone Enterprises. She was a member of the Canadian Ukrainian Legion Branch 141 and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary. She also served on the executive of Kildonan Horizons and was a very active member of their social club. Sally is survived by her daughter, Carol Smith and husband Richard of Sherwood Park, Alta.; son, Stanley Wiseman and wife Carol of Winnipeg; six grandchildren, Kevin and Jason Smith, Bonnie and Robert Goshko of Sherwood Park, Alta., Tracy, Shelly and Grant Wiseman of Winnipeg; great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Paige Goshko of Sherwood Park, Alta., who she cherished and were the love of her life; longtime friends, Joyce and Steve Wolfe, along with their families. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Wiseman in 1953, mother Julia in December 1963 and father Paul in 1962. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, at Kildonan Horizons, 505 Munroe Ave., with Rev. G. Fulford officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Wolfe, Walter Sudoma, Kevin Smith, Jason Smith, Grant Wiseman and Robert Gushko. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Institute for the Blind (CNIB) of Winnipeg, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R3J 0E8. Our family would like to thank the staff of Misericordia Personal Care Unit, Cornish Five and the staff of Bethania Personal Care Home for all their care and kindness in looking after Sally.
