SIMON (SI) ROY ARMSTRONG

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySIMON (SI) ROY ARMSTRONG Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Simon (Si) Armstrong passed away at Tache Centre on January 19, 2000 at the age of 85 years. Si leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory his loving wife of 48 years, Dorothy; his son Glen; his daughter Joan (Gary) Hutchinson and their children, Sean, Adam, Kyle and Tara; sisters, Myrtle OMorrow and Bernice Burns, both of Stettler, Alta. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends also survive him. Si was born in Castor, Alberta on February 27, 1914. He was raised on the family farm and at an early age supported his family following the death of his father. In his late teens he began his life long career with the Royal Bank, which brought him to Winnipeg in 1950. In 1952, he was united in marriage with Dorothy Gray and the couple was blessed with two children. Si retired in 1974 to enjoy his family and pursue his love of golf and curling. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 24 at 3:00 p.m. from Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Cremation has taken place and a reception will follow the service. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Sis memory to the Parkinsons Foundation of Canada, #204-825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5 or to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. The family would like to thank the staff of 5A Tache Centre for their dedicated and loving care over the past 18 months, especially Cecile, Chantal, Maria, Adrian, Dr. Kevin Coates, and the Sisters of the Order of the Grey Nuns whose kindness and support was much appreciated.
