MRS. MARTHA BARAN (nee Dulishkovych) Mrs. Martha Baran, age 94 years, beloved mother of Rev. Dr. Alexander Baran, passed away at the Seven Oaks General Hospital on January 21, 2000. Martha was born April 2, 1905 in Uzhorod, Carpatho, Ukraine. Marthas father was a Ukrainian Greek Catholic Priest, Rev. Alexis Dulishkovych. She received her education in Uzhorod and subsequently met and married her husband Dr. Viktor Baran who predeceased her in 1943. She came to Canada in 1977 to join her son and lived here until her demise. For the past six years, because of her age and ill health, she was a resident of St. Josephs Residence. Special thanks to all the staff at St. Josephs Residence for all their care, kindness and compassion. Martha was a very loving mother and her son Rev. Dr. Alexander Baran will forever love her and cherish her memory. Prayers will be sung on Sunday evening, January 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, January 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Saints Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rev. Fr. Michael Kouts officiating.
