MARGARET WINIFRED CAMPION It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Winifred Campion on Tuesday, January 18, 2000 at the Oakview Place Nursing Home, Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 87 years. Margaret was born on January 23, 1912 in Nelson, British Columbia. She taught Home Economics in both Nelson and Cranbrook, British Columbia before obtaining her Masters in New York in 1958. She then moved on to Winnipeg to become a Professor of Home Economics Education with the University of Manitoba. Margaret was a long time devoted member of the Anglican Church and maintained strong ties with the U of M Alumni after her retirement. She loved both the theatre and the ballet as well as bowling with her friends. Remaining to forever cherish Margarets memory are her sisters, Wilma Jones of Nelson, B.C. and Bea McLean of White Rock, B.C., along with numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Sarah Campion; brothers, Charles, Arthur and George, and by her sisters, Flora and Edna. Margarets funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Pauls Anglican Church, 830 North Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba with Ven. David Pate officiating. A graveside service and interment will be taking place in the Nelson City Cemetery, Nelson, British Columbia on Friday, February 18 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Katherine Hough officiating. Our family wishes to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Oakview Place for the care and compassion that they gave to Margaret during her stay there. As an expression of sympathy, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Margarets memory to the Canadian Home Economics Association Foundation, 303 Ashland Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba or a charity of ones choice.
