GERRI PECKOVER Peacefully with her family at her side, on January 21, 2000 at St. Boniface Hospital, Gerri, beloved wife of Charlie, died at the age of 63 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter Allison (Patrick) her son Greg and one grandchild Ethan. She is further survived by her mother Lily; sisters, Yvonne (Allan) Trupp and Iris (Jack) Bell; brothers, Marvin and Nestor (Kerry) Guspodarchuk and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her father Michael in 1967. Special thanks to Rev. Donna Mahussier and Dr. Crow; to the staff at Concordia Hospital, 3rd Floor and at Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital. Gerri was born in Buchanan, Saskatchewan in 1936 and spent her growing-up years there. She graduated in 1954 after which she went to Teachers College in Saskatoon for one year. She taught for one year in rural Saskatchewan. In 1957 she moved to Winnipeg and began work at the Bank of Montreal, Portage and Main. She married in 1963 and following the birth of her two children, she enjoyed being a homemaker. In 1980 she resumed her public work at Comcheq/Ceridian where she stayed until her retirement in 1995. Gerri gave selflessly to her family, always putting others first. She will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 25 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephens Anglican Church, 200 Helmsdale Ave., with Rev. Donna Mahussier officiating. Interment to follow in St. Johns Cathedral Columbarium. If friends desire, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
