PAUL ZACK After a courageous battle with cancer, Mr. Paul Zack passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2000 at Seven Oaks Hospital, surrounded by his family. Paul will be lovingly remembered by his wife Therese; his daughter Diane Sacher and husband Brad; sons, Fred and Wally; and by his grandsons, Braden, Kyle and David. He also leaves behind his sisters, Stephie Mazur (Nick) and Ella Kruk (Fred) and many other friends and relatives. Paul was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. Paul was born to Anton and Mary Zak on December 8, 1919 in Brokenhead, Manitoba. On June 21, 1958 he married Therese Kuffner and together they began and raised their family. Paul had a passion for life, which he clearly demonstrated this last year when despite his illness, he fought to enjoy each day. Always much younger than his years, he loved everything about the outdoors, from farming and gardening, to fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobiling and traveling. He loved music, played instruments including violin, accordion and drums at community dances, sang in the church choir, and always had music in the house. He also loved people, and made many friends over the years who were touched by his great sense of humour. Paul was very proud of his family, and becoming a grandpa was a special joy for him. Many of his special traits will be carried on by his children and grandchildren. Even through his illness, he always had an encouraging word to those he loved, and kept his sense of humour and love of life to his last days. The family would like to extend their thanks to Drs. Moncek and Haiart, VON nurse Marlene, and to all the wonderful staff of Unit 3, 5th Floor of the Seven Oaks Hospital. Prayers will be said on Sunday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 24 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Fr. Walter Klimchuk officiating. Interment will follow at the Beausejour cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauls memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour in care of arrangements. Ph.
