JEAN ZEGALSKI Jean of Rossburn, Man., passed away peacefully, after a short illness at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Man. at the age of 78 years. She was born and grew up in the Marco, Man. area and attended Byrd School. She spent her early adulthood working at several farms in the Rossburn/Vista area. She married Paul Zegalski on June 20, 1943 and lived on the Zegalski homestead just east of Rossburn. When she and Paul retired from farming, they moved to Rossburn and she earned her ten year pin in the Housekeeping Department of Rossburn District Hospital. Upon retirement, Jean became involved in community work, serving as a Seniors Helper, as well as volunteering with activities sponsored by St. Theresas Roman Catholic Church. She was predeceased several years ago by her parents, Walter and Antonina Budz and by her sister Lena Zenchyshyn of Olha, Man. in the summer of 1999. Surviving are her husband Paul Zegalski; sons, Gene Paulsson and Ray Zegalski, their wives, Cindy Cobb and Annette Zegalski respectively and four grandchildren, Elizabeth and David Paulsson and Scott and Melissa Zegalski. Also surviving are brother Frank Budz of Rossburn and sisters, Mary Budz of Saskatoon, Sask., Josie Joseph of Winnipeg and Nellie Kaskiw of Rossburn. The funeral service was held on December 27, 1999 at St. Theresas Roman Catholic Church in Rossburn with Father Dominic Yuen officiating. Interment followed in St. Theresas Roman Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Zegalski, Perry Maduke, Barry Baydock, Dwayne Joseph, Dwain Zegalski and Brent Budz. Raes Funeral Home Service was in care of arrangements.
