KATE (KAY) CLAY Peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2000, Kate Clay passed away at the Victoria General Hospital. Kay was predeceased by her parents Dan and Alice Clay and her sister Caroline Clay. She is survived by her two brothers Robert Daniel Clay (Marguerite) and John Elgin Clay (Joan) and by several nieces and nephews. Kay was born in Fairlight, SK on October 20, 1913. During the war, she spent two years in Toronto, working in radio research, and two years at the Winnipeg Airport doing radio work for flights. Following the war, Kay remained in Winnipeg and lived with her sister Caroline. She worked at the Monarch Life Assurance Company for thirty years, retiring from Commission Accounting in 1976. Although retired, Kay remained active, serving as a volunteer at the Misericordia Hospital and Westminster United Church. Kay loved to travel and did so extensively throughout Canada and overseas. Kay derived much pleasure from the trips she took to visit her family, who always recognized the sound of her Barracuda upon her arrival. There will be a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2000 in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with the Rev. Robert Campbell officiating. Kay will be laid to rest, next to her sister Caroline, in the Walpole Cemetery in Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westminster United Church or the Misericordia Hospital Foundation. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
