LENA HRABCHAK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sister, aunt and friend Lena Hrabchak on Friday, January 21, 2000 at the age of 61. Lena is survived by her sisters Pauline (Tom) Doyle, Mary (Bill) Boyechko and brothers Peter (Rosie) Hrabchak, and James Hrabchak, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Ann, sisters Helen and Sophie, and brothers Harry and Mike. Lena was born on June 11, in Sarto Manitoba. She was raised on her family farm until she moved to Winnipeg in the 1950s. She began her career at a candy factory in the North end and remained at her job until her recent hospitalization. Lena loved various types of music. She played guitar in her younger years. She enjoyed the sun; family and friends would frequently find her sitting peacefully in her yard or strolling down the sidewalk, enjoying the simple things in life. She also loved collecting Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. Lena will be greatly missed and will remain in our hearts.
