MARIE GREENWOOD Peacefully, on the twenty-second day of January, 2000, Marie Greenwood passed away, at the age of eighty-two, at her residence in the Donwood Manor Personal Care Home. Marie leaves her two sons, Martin and Ron Greenwood, both of Vancouver and her two daughters, Cheryl and Jan Greenwood, both of Winnipeg. She is survived by her three brothers Ivar, Art and Norman Berntsen and three sisters, Violet Cushon, Bernice Barber and Mildred Peach, as well as their families; all of Saskatchewan. Marie was predeceased by her brother Ralph and sister Ruth. Mom grew up in Glen Ewen, Saskatchewan, moving to Winnipeg in 1937. She graduated from the Misericordia General Hospital School of Nursing in 1940. Mom was always very proud of her nursing background and had worked at the hospital and in private duty during her career. Mom enjoyed a number of years as a tour-guide on many trips throughout North America. She had developed a passion for music at an early age that continued throughout her life. In keeping with Moms wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be a service. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Concordia Hospital Personal Care Unit and the Donwood Manor Personal Care Home for the excellent care given to Marie during her time there. Flowers are gratefully declined, however, donations may be made, if desired, to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
