SISTER LOUISE ARSENEAU, R.G.S. It is with deep sadness and also joy that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Sister Louise (Lorina) Arseneau. She has gone to be with the Lord, whom she so faithfully loved and served for so many years. Sister loved children and spent sixty years serving them. She will be fondly remembered by the many present and former students whom she has served in the Good Shepherd Centres in Halifax, Toronto, St. John, Windsor and Winnipeg. Until her sudden death, Sister Louise was active in many projects which also included visiting the sick. She especially loved to do crafts with the younger children at a Marymound Group Home. She also brought joy to many former students of Marymound who have looked upon her as "mother". She will be very much missed by the Sisters of her community, the Sisters of the Good Shepherd of Winnipeg, students and staff of Marymound Inc. Sister Louise was born on February 10, 1921 in Bathurst, N.B; daughter of Adelard and Elise Arseneau. Left to cherish her memory are many brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins: Emilien (Lougheed, AB), Gerard (Montreal), Elizabeth, Gilles, Leon, Rita, Deanna, Beatrice, Andrea, Marie, Louis Laurent, Simeon and Georgette, all of New Brunswick. Sister Louise was predeceased by her parents, Adelard and Elise; brother Irene and sister Therese. Prayers will be said on Wednesday evening, January 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 250 Burrin Ave. with Rev. Fr. John Wronski officiating. Interment to follow in St. Marys Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish to, a donation may be made to the Marymound Endowment Fund. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
