WILLIAM ZAPOROZAN On Sunday, January 23, 2000 at the Health Sciences Centre, Bill Zaporozan, aged 66 years of Winnipeg, beloved husband of Marlene. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 40 years, Marlene (nee Pruden) son Jeff of Winnipeg; daughter Tracy Pettit (Steve) of Calgary; three brothers, Walter (Donna) and Jerry (Margaret) of Winnipeg and Gene (Shirley) of Peachland, B.C.; four sisters, his twin sister Doreen London of Florida, Victoria Jennings (Walter) and Stella Lucyk of Winnipeg and Mary Whitman of Victoria, B.C.; a sister-in-law Kris Zaporozan of Winnipeg, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Jean; a brother John and a sister Olga Lennyk. Bill always loved hunting and being outdoors. He was happiest being at our cabin at Echo Bay in Lake of the Woods, where he would endlessly explore the shorelines and trees, and watch the birds and animals. He thoroughly enjoyed country music and was a talented singer and guitar player - much to his familys delight. An avid curler, he won a Purple Heart in 1961 along with many other trophies and awards. He was most proud of being a representative of Manitoba at the 1961 Brier Championship in Calgary. He ran his own business, Granite Realty for 29 years and was well known, well respected within the real estate community. Bill was always very devoted to his family and was more concerned about their needs than his own. His strength, guidance, love and support will be sadly missed. We love you Dad. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Rev. Peter Cain officiating.
