Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESLIE GORDON McKAY (Sweet Pea) It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden death of our son Leslie Gordon McKay on January 24, 2000. Leslie was born in Eriksdale, Manitoba on November 12, 1970, he was 29 years old. Leslie was predeceased by his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Paul; grandmother Maggie McKay; uncles, Leo Paul, Alvin Paul, Charles McKay, Edward Roulette, Auntie Brenda Stagg and great uncles, Albert Paul and Joshi Paul. Leslie is survived by parents, Gordon and Vivian McKay; little sister Kristin and his partner Harriet Sumner. Grandfather George McKay Sr.; uncles, Russell Paul, Bill Paul and family, Harold Paul and family, Douglas and Joan Paul and family, Cecil and Julie Paul and family, Ron and Karen Paul and family, George and Irene McKay and family, Clifford and Valerie McKay and family, Fred and Lucille McKay and family, Ivan and Diane and family, Willie and Maureen and family; aunties, Olga and George Maytwayashing and family, Audrey Paul and family, Linda and Charles Monkman and family, Doreen McKay and family, Gina and James and family, Joanne and Walter Richard and family, Maggs and Morris Thompson and family, Tina and Ken Keewatin and family, Mary, Larry and family, Gloria and family and Gina and Dwayne Moar and family, and numerous cousins. Wake services will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 27 at the Gordon and Vivian McKay residence at Pine Creek First Nation and will continue through until Saturday, January 29. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29 in Our Lady of Seven Sorrows Roman Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be John Paul Paul, Dwayne Paul, Charlie Paul, Greg McKay, Thomas McKay, Earl Maytwayashing. The McKay family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the many family and friends who showered us with love, kindness and respect. Weep for me not, for I am safe, warm and happy in the creators light. When you think of me, think of me with a smile, for I have taken flight.
