HENRIETTA (ROSE) BROWN Peacefully after a brief illness and with her family at her side, Rose passed away January 3, 2000 at the Health Sciences Centre. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Henry on October 30, 1998, and brothers Alfred and Alexis. Rose was born Henrietta Rosetta Higgins (Phillips) on February 26, 1922 in Monominto, MB. Rose married the love of her life, Carl (Henry) Brown on September 30, 1944 and together they farmed and lovingly raised their family in the Dugald area. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother Jim (Yvonne) Phillips, sisters-in- law Betty and Eva Phillips; her sons Jim (Andrea), Garry (Doreen), Harvey (Gloria), Marvin (Mildred), Jack (Cherryl), daughters Lynda (Bob) Paul, Frances (Ed) Paulishyn, Darlene (Dwight) Finlay, Brenda (Leonard) Kuzyk, Louise (Ken) Allan, Debra (James) Zaharia, Cindy (Johan) Tolsma; grandchildren Donald (Leah), Pam, David, Melinda (Layton) Warren, Laurie, John (Carley), Christina, Kathleen, Kevin, Matthew, Jaclynn, Trevor, Ryan, Kirsten, Tamara, Brett, Tyler, Spencer, Tanya, JJ, Sara, Amber, Clint, and Kelly Paulishyn; and great-grandchildren Justin and Hunter. Mom was an easy going, hardworking individual, loving of all whose paths she encountered. You were a stranger but only once to Rose, as she welcomed all into her home with warmth and happiness, always cooking for the family and friends as they arrived announced and unannounced. Rose never shied away from work and often pitched in to help Henry and the gang with the work around the farm, yet always had the strength and energy to get out and kick up her heels when time permitted. Mom was a true inspiration to all of us and instilled her work ethic in all. Her greatest pleasure of late was seeing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren together at family functions. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Health Sciences Centre Emergency Department with a very special thanks to Lesley. The family would also like to thank Dr. P. Galbraith for his honesty, sincerity, and openness in helping Mom deal with her illness. Mom always looked forward to seeing her doctor for those reasons. As well, the family want to extend sincere thanks to her home care workers, Anita and Donna, who made Moms final days at home more comfortable. At Roses request immediate cremation has taken place. A memorial service and celebration of Roses life will be held on Friday, January 7, 2000, 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., Winnipeg, MB. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choice. We will miss you dearly, Mom.
