NETTIE FERCHUK It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and Baba, Nettie Ferchuk, of Lac du Bonnet, Man. on Sunday, January 2, 2000 at the age of 77 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Nick on May 29, 1995. Nettie was born on January 12, 1922 in the Ukraine. She lived in both Germany and England before coming to Canada in 1949, marrying Nick Ferchuk in 1950, and settling down in the Lac du Bonnet area. Along with her husband, Nettie farmed until her retirement. She loved being outdoors, tending her garden and caring for her animals. Nettie had a great deal of energy and enthusiasm toward life and she lived her life to the fullest. During her retirement, she was able to travel to visit her home in the Ukraine and enjoyed trips to Florida and Mexico. Netties greatest love was her family. Nettie is survived by her daughter, Alice McEwan-Morris (Ed) her son Arthur (Marilyn) her beloved granddaughters, Jodi McVicker (Greg), Robyn Morris (Brad), Amanda and Andrea Ferchuk; her adored great-granddaughter Caitlin; her brother Wasyl Ihnat and her cousin and friend Pauline Merko. Prayer service will be held on Thursday, January 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church, Lac du Bonnet, Man. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 7 at 1:00 p.m., also at the Church, with Rev. Fr. R. Machura officiating. Interment will follow in the Lac du Bonnet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Netties memory may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation, 409 Tache Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.
