VICTOR EMERY KREPART
Date of Passing: Jan 03, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTOR EMERY KREPART Died on January 3, 2000 after living courageously with a series of strokes. Husband of his great love Edna, father of son Dr. Garry Victor Krepart and wife Lynn; daughter Janet Heather Napper and husband Allen Ross. As much as Garry and Janet were brother and sister, Lynn and Allen grew up with Victor and Edna, and were full children of theirs and sister and brother to each other. Victor and Edna were grandfather and grandmother to three wonderful children of Garry and Lynns - Russell, Lisa and Susan. Victor immigrated to Canada with his parents, Theresa and Joseph, from Hungary when he was 12 years old. Life was hard then in Lorette and St. Vital. After serving in the Second World War, Dad graduated in Chartered Accountancy in 1953 from the University of Manitoba. From early accounting jobs he moved on to the house building and land development business and was manager of Quality (Qualico) Construction, President of Windsor Homes (Vancouver) and President of Metropolitan Properities prior to retirement to West Palm Beach in Florida with Edna. He received many awards for his work, although he never considered anything he did as work. He was President of the Urban Development Institute of Canada, Winnipeg House Builders Association as well as many other organizations and also lectured to the Faculty of Business at the University of Manitoba. Victor had a passion and joy for life which he shared with his soul mate Edna, the loving partner he lost 15 years ago. Edna was his joy and inspiration, and he was hers. When he lost her to breast cancer, it was a single tragedy of what was a hard earned, fully lived, and joyfully shared life. Victors favourite expression was "Life is Good", a toast he and his family shared at all gatherings - happy or otherwise. Victors early life was hard. He knew what it was to be hungry, so he relished and fully appreciated the gift of life well lived. As one of his grandchildren said on hearing of his death, "He was cool." He had a way of challenging people to be their best and to become even better than they ever thought they could be. A passionate Canadian, Victor would tell his children and grandchildren that they had won the lottery because they had been born in North America. He was demanding of himself, and equally demanding of his entire family. He loved them all; he cherished every victory they had and worried about every decision they made. Victor Krepart lived a full, rich life. He will be remembered, and he will be missed. Cremation has taken place and a family interment will be held. In celebration of Dads life, friends are invited to Garry and Lynns home Friday, January 7 between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. to share memories. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to Dad and Moms favourite charity - Ronald McDonald House. Many thanks to the excellent nursing staff of 5A North, Grace Hospital. "Safe Passage"
