BILL (WILLIAM) ELYSHEN April 19, 1928 - December 30, 1999 The family of Bill (William) Elyshen announces the passing of our father, grandfather, ex-husband, and brother on December 30, 1999 at the age of 71 years. Bills family includes his son Randy; daughter Pat; grandson Kelvin; adopted grandson Evan; ex-wife Helen; and sisters, Joyce, Jenny, May and Alexandra; and their families. Bill leaves us to join his father Alexandro; mother Katharina; sister Ann; brothers, Nick, John, Walter and Mike. Dad was a retired employee of Via Rail, having worked many years with CNR both at Symington Yard and as a Sleeping Car Porter until his retirement from Via Rail. He was orphaned at a young age and had a tough life but learned to cope with whatever came along in his lifes journey. He was a loving father and grandfather and a good provider for his family and friends. He loved to be able to tease and joke with those around him. He lived to go fishing and always had a good fish story to tell. Favourite pastimes for Dad were playing cribbage and reading westerns by Louis LAmour and Jake Logan and the daily newspaper. Our family expresses our grateful thanks to Dr. Wayne Poon for always being there for Dad and to his "special" care providers at Heritage Lodge for their loving care over the last several years. The staff at Grace Hospital Emergency Ward and on the 3rd floor were so good and caring to him in his final hours - thank you. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held on Friday, January 7 with an interment in the Lasting Tribute Chapel at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Should anyone desire, donations in Dads name can be made to a charity of your choice, to Westwood Community Church, or to Red Rock Bible Camp. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
