EMMA (EM) MARIA HUSKA (nee GOTTFRIED) Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Em passed away at the Vista Park Lodge, on January 3, 2000. She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Kim), Richard (Marilyn) grandchildren, David, Bryan, Paul, Michele, Jason and Tannis; brothers and sisters, Albert Gottfried, Ted (Ruth) Gottfried, Louisa Richardson, Allan (Jean) Gottfried and Leona. Emma was born in Lemberg, Saskatchewan, but worked and resided in Manitoba for all of her adult life. She enjoyed an early retirement after 25 years of dedicated service with the former Unemployment Insurance Commission. She took up hobbies that she did not have time for during her working career, the greatest of these being overseas travel. She was an active member and volunteer in both Charleswood United and St. Vital United Churches. The family is grateful to the staff of Vista Park Lodge for the support and efforts they have made over the past year to ensure an improved quality of life. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Vital United Church, 937 St. Marys Rd. In lieu of flowers, friends and relatives are welcome to donate to a charity of their choice. Forever in our hearts and minds. Do not stand by my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow I am a diamond glint on snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the gentle Autumn rain.
