NORAH NANCY LEISHMAN (nee MICHELS) On January 3, 2000, Norah Nancy Leishman, age 85 years, beloved wife of the late Norman Allan Leishman, passed away peacefully at Oakview Place. Norah was born in London, England on January 25, 1914 and came to Winnipeg with her family in 1920. After completing her education, she became an employee of Eatons. During the Second World War, Norah enlisted in the CWAC, spending most of her army years at Shilo. It was during that time that Norah met her future husband, Norman. Norah and Norman were married in Winnipeg on May 13, 1944. After leaving the army, they made their home in Winnipeg, and Norah returned to Eatons to work, moving to the Polo Park store when it opened. She remained with that company until her retirement. Norah is survived by her sister, Margaret Jocelyn, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Norman in 1968 and also by her parents, Lillian Michels and John Michels; and three sisters, Kathleen Morello, Winnifred Dunn and Florence Lewis, all of Winnipeg. A memorial service will be held in the Holy Trinity Church, 256 Smith St. (Donald and Graham) on Saturday, January 8 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Mr. Robin Mather officiating. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Oakview Place and special thanks also to Norahs niece Kay and husband Doug Skerritt for their many kindnesses to Norah.
