ELEANORE MCMAHON (nee WIRGAU) Passed away peacefully on January 4, 2000 at Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 77. Eleanore is survived by her husband Glen; daughter Noreen Kornyk; son Wade (Joanne) McMahon; grandchildren Sheldon (Colleen), Blair, Shawna, Jenna and great grandchildren Ryan and Kyle. Seven sisters Frances (Otto) Weser, Evelyn Paridaen, Anne Hyworon, Dorthea Kiss, Rose Kunselman, Bernice (Cecil) McMahon, Carol (John) Myskiw and brother Joe (Emily) Wirgau and numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanore was predeceased by her parents Anna and Stefan Wirgau and brothers Carl, Stephan and Murray. She was born and raised in Woodridge, MB, living most of her life in Winnipeg. She worked at various jobs, retiring from Reeds Packaging Co. in 1985 after 15 years of employment. Eleanore was an active long time member of Robertson United Church and involved with the Presbytery for seven years. Glen and Eleanore enjoyed many years of travelling and camping at Natimik and Falcon Lake. She especially delighted in organizing and attending family gatherings. She was an avid knitter, sewer and will be remembered for her beautiful homemade quilts. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8 at 1:30 p.m. at Shaughnessy United Church, 1493 Magnus Avenue, with Rev. Cliff McMillan officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital, 5th Floor for her care. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations can be made by friends and family to a charity of their choice.
