Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT PAUL YACKEL On January 4, 2000 at Seven Oaks Hospital after battling cancer, Albert, aged 72, passed away peacefully. His wife of 44 years, Margaret, was by his side. He is survived by Margaret; his son Richard; his sister Violet Yackel of Stonewall; his brother Roy Yackel (Nellie) of Winnipeg and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father John; his mother Pauline; brothers, Bill and Ted and sister Lena. Albert was proud when he served his country as a Gunner in the Canadian Army in Korea between 1951 and 1954. Albert was employed by the City of Winnipeg for 40 years. During these years he moved from the Sewer Department to City Hall, to the Library, and for the 25 years before retiring, to Winnipeg Transit. He looked forward to going on bus trips to the Shooting Star Casino and enjoyed coffee with many friends at Coffee Time. He always enjoyed driving his truck and tinkering with tractors. Albert will be sadly missed. There will be a private gathering for immediate family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Manitoba Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 9Z9. Thanks you to the nurses and staff of Seven Oaks Hospital and all our friends and relatives who visited. Private gathering has taken place. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements. 586-8044.
