GEORGE BALDOCK On Wednesday, January 26, 2000 George Baldock beloved husband of Elsie passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre from complications following a stroke. George was born in Canterbury Kent, England, coming to Canada as a young boy. He served in the Air Force in World War II and was employed at Westeel Rosco for 42 years. George enjoyed sports and was an avid curler. He rose to the position of president at the Victoria Curling Club and was secretary for 15 years. George enjoyed curling Saturday morning with the Westeel Rosco CC and was president from 1950-1988. George was an honorary life member of the Victoria CC, Westeel Rosco CC and the M.C.A. George spent many happy years with his wife Elsie at their cottage in Sandy Hook, golfing, fishing and playing cards with their neighbours and friends and every morning you would see him walking his dog. Besides his wife Elsie he is survived by his daughter Edith McGeown, granddaughter Ardith (Randy) Plant, two great grandsons, two sisters, other relatives and friends. George was predeceased by his first wife, Gwendoline Vera. A service of remembrance will be held in the Deer Lodge Centre Chapel on Tuesday, February 1 at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Ian Mills officiating. A private interment of cremated remains will take place at St. Vital Cemetery. Many thanks to all the staff on 7 west at Deer Lodge Centre for all the wonderful care George received.
