DIANA IRENE McGIFFIN (nee ADOLFSON) After a courageous six year battle with cancer, Diana peacefully passed away January 27, 2000 at the Grace General Hospital, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her loving husband, Orval, in 1973; also her father, Oscar and brother, Al. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Heather (Greg) three grandchildren, Hayley, Trevor and Timothy; mother, Pauline; brothers, Dave (Georgina) and Wayne (Jean) step-children, Ralph (Joy), Doug (Joanne), Patricia and their families; sister-in-law, Gay; brother-in-law, Bob (Jan) and many nieces, nephews and friends and best friend, Joanna. Born in 1938, Diana was raised in the Dugald/Anola area where she worked for Manitoba Telephone System for several years. Later, Diana thoroughly enjoyed many years employment at Stefuras Cartage and at Southland Corporation. In her last seven years, Dianas grandchildren brought a special joy to her life. Heather would like to express her gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful care provided by the staff of 4 West at the Grace Hospital, Dr. Pat Harris and her loving V.O.N. Barb Bel, for the past six years. The family invites friends to celebrate Dianas life lin Thomson Funeral Chapels Monday, January 31, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Peter Monty S.J. officiating. Viewing will be on Sunday, January 30 from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. with a short closing prayer at 8:30 p.m. Interment will take place on Tuesday, February 1, at 11:30 a.m. at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dianas memory to Grace General Hospital Palliative Care Unit, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7 or to Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0Z9. Mom, I love and miss you very much. By your great courage, you will always be a role model for all of us. May you rest in peace which you so richly deserve.
