Condolences & Memories (1 entries)
Ed worked in the off season at the Winnipeg Downtown Eaton's sporting goods. I would go there as a young boy to marvel at this hero of the Bombers that I could watch walk among us. He was always friendly and gracious as he likely knew I typically wasn't there to buy anything. I used to find any excuse to go to the store. Weather it was a 25 cent set of football pins or a sale priced junior sized football, it didn't matter he was generous with his time and his conversation. I would ask about a product and he would walk me over to it. I was awe standing so close to someone I had followed so close as a player. He was real and he was talking to me. To a young Bomber fan he was every bit the hero I hoped he would be, on and off the field. As an adult and a long time supporter he has provided me fond memories that clearly endure still today. Thanks Mr.Ulmer. God speed. - Posted by: Brent Chapman (Fan) on: Apr 22, 2016
