OLIVER Peacefully, on January 27, 2000, William (Bill) Oliver, beloved husband of Theresa (Terry) Oliver of Winnipeg, passed away at the age of 73, at the Grace General Hospital. Bill is predeceased by his parents; his brother Sam and sister, Emma Simpson. He leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory his loving wife, Terry; son, Gordon (Beverly), daughter, Heather (Allan) Mason; son, William (Bill) (Heather), and daughter, Kelly (Terry) Juskow. Sharing this loss are his grandchildren, Craig (Roberta), Andrea (Darren), Charissa (Kory), Todd (Carla), Kim (Duane), Marney (Cory), Shawn and Christopher; his brother, Maurice (Nilda) sister, Alice as well as numerous other relatives and good friends. Throughout his life, Bill was an active member of the Masons, and took great pride as a Shriner in the Khartum Temple, Oriental Band. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #4. He worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway as a fireman/hostler for 43 years before retiring. Bills memory will be fondly remembered by all of his family, friends and the many lives he touched. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour, his warm, loving personality and the kindness and generosity he so freely gave to others. Family and friends are invited for a final visitation on Monday, January 31, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 1, at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with the Oriental Band Shriners serving as Honourary Pallbearers. The family will have a private cremation committal to follow in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A memorial luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Shriners Burn Fund, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
