MOLLIE RHIND (nee DOOLE) March 17, 1913 - January 28, 2000 Mollie Ann Rhind, of Portage la Prairie, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family. Mollie was predeceased by her beloved husband Charlie in 1982 and her brothers, Bob, Bill and Jim. She leaves to remember her with love and affection, her daughters Norma (Marshall) Effler and Barbara Rhind-Harrison (Mark Harrison) son Bob (Marilyn) Rhind; grandchildren, Brent (Julie), Brian (Frances), Michael (Jeannette), Michelle Effler, Steven (Jennifer), Jennifer and Laurel Rhind; great-grandchildren, Jesslyn Molly, Miranda, Ashley, Jennifer and Robyn Effler; brother George (Jean) Doole; sisters-in-law, Nora Workman, Audrey Arnett, Buryle Doole and Marj Doole; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mollies home was the centre of her life and she filled it with her love and wisdom. Her caring friendship, sparkling wit and story-telling attracted and touched family, friends and strangers. She loved God, Charlie, children, daisies, Christmas, things Irish, underdogs, politics, hymns, "soaps", other peoples birthdays, sports, Church of the Rock, roses, humming, phone calls, being the family archivist, Clear Lake, Amazing Grace, Canada, seniors discounts, wild flowers, her church, handiwork and music. "Mollie Was Very Important to Me" was an expression often used by all who knew her. Mollie lived her entire life in Manitoba towns and cities (Uno, Two Creeks, Deloraine, Solsgirth, Dominion City, Miniota, Elkhorn, Swan River, Portage la Prairie). Cremation has taken place and there will be a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1 in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with Rose Ferries officiating. In accordance with Mollies wishes, interment will take place in Westbourne Cemetery in the spring of 2000, followed by a gathering in her home in Portage la Prairie. Family and friends will be advised of the details at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Mollie to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8, or to a charity of choice. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Grace General Hospital (Orthopaedics), and in particular Celine, Patty, Ida, Diane and all the professional, caring nurses on the second floor. Also, a warm thank-you for the love and care shown by Mollies special friends in Portage la Prairie. "I know how much you love me as much as I love you.
